oops. with a blink of an eye - the weekend is over.
it's monday again. sunday was spent clearing more stuff from my bedroom as mom decided to do spring cleaning. now my room looks so much more spacious. lol. then it was the car maintainence by the 3 of us. man - i think i am getting better at cleaning the car interior. lol. =) the family car looks spanking - though i doubt i will drive it anytime soon. hahaha
but most importantly - mom prepared steamboat AGAIN! hahaha dunno why but maybe it's because my birthday is round the corner!? lol. anyway the steamboat was fabulous because mom made it a point to prepare prawn broth. damn tedious because you need to peel the prawns, fry the shells before boiling the soup with it. then you need to filter away the prawn shells. damn touched that mom went through so much trouble to prepare the broth.
mom prepared other homemade items and dad brought home pig liver. i love liver and pig's small intestines too! too bad they hardly have any small intestines these days. most importantly dad bought this weird fish with green flesh from the market.

check out the green-fleshed fish. its some sort of deep sea fish and damn freaking expensive. its the fish head can be sold for $200+ and the tail w/o meat for $40+... well it has a stronger fishy smell. tastes alittle like salmon. different from usual fish meat. i have no idea what name the fish is. oh yar - the meat still looks alittle greenish when cooked.
dinner was so good that i ended up over-eating. muahahha damn.. famn bloated after dinner.. too much beehoon and soup. dang.. its troubling to know that you have alot of good food around.
anyway today we went out for lunch today and we came to this resturant called YI PIN XIANG. the chef is taiwanese and his dishes are damn nice. address: 87 Pasir Panjang Road. Tel: 6479 3078. lol.

The resturant's entrance.
i bothered to type out this address because the stuff is really nice and i will definitely go there again if i have to chance. yup. i have to say i am surprised everytime i eat something. it is that good. we had paper-thin sweetened lotus root for appitizers. its not mind-numbing sweet, only light enough to get your tongue tingling with sensation.. yummy....

main dishes came pretty soon - dong po rou with asparagaus(i think) and sweet and sour fish. the sweet and sour fish was not bad. btw the fish bead was made to look like a squirral. freaky. lol. the dong po rou was oily but damn nice - i never liked asparagaus but i ate more asparagaus in one sitting today than i ever have had in my entire life.

my second favourite dish today - prawn fritters with salted egg yoke sauce and kong bao ji ding. my favourite was the prawn fritters. when i saw the basil leaves - i thought it was curry sauce but man was i surprised~! lol. =D i am salivating already. anyway i forgot to take photo of the best dish. stewed cabbage (i think) haha i have no idea what it was because i didn't hear dad ordering the dishes. anyway the cabbage was soft and the scallop, ham and mushroom slices made the dish sweet! the last dish was peking duck. =)
dessert. i have no idea what cake that was - i only know it was sponge cake. the other plate with rolls of thingy was yam roll with black sesame. lalalala. but the best was the yam paste - super good. i love yam paste with pumpkin. =D i like. i like. hahah anyway i think i will try to get my friends over there soon. =D

after trying to shed the pounds after the taiwan trip - the last two meals today did threaten to kill undo all that hard work. oops. lol. gluttony is a sin. =D excuses like 'its my birthday so i can let loose alittle' are even worse. lol. ok. gotta go study. lol.
