i always liked national days because i liked
the atmosphere at the parade. so i was really excited when i suddenly got the tickets to this year's NDP preview. i went for the one held last saturday. and it is probably the 2nd or 3rd NDP parade that i have been to.
i went to watch with my sister - the first time i am watching it out of the national stadium.
eh - i think the NDP this year lacks abit of something. i dunno, i didn't like the performances much so i was practically stoning because i was bored. it could have been because of the heat too.
but being able to see a sea of people wearing red is quite nice! at least they are sporting enough to wear red for a preview. =)

i took some of the photos from the NDP website because i realised that their photos were nicer. hee hee. especially the ones of fireworks. anyway i need to thank Uncle kong's friend for giving me those tickets. but i have to say the view from marina bay really is very nice. but the construction going on behind the stage was quite an eyesore.

no doubt the performance was a whole lot of in-your-face-propagenda so that might have been another reason why i just tuned out. the moment 'propagenda' comes to mind, i switch off. seriously, i think they should have performance that were less brain-washing. i can't help flinching when i hear words like, 'we are creative people'.
but i know everyone really really liked the fighter jet displays and the jet boats. the '08' was done by f3000 powerboats! me included! haha i even took videos too! but my camera is quite lousy so all of them turned out grainy. so not nice!

the bay birds - yup, these balloons are supposed to be birds. i personally think they look very cute. their shape reminds me of some anime character. hahaha.
the best part of the national day parade is of course the fireworks! all photos below were courtesy of the NDP website. and i think that was the part where everyone was really high. though at the back of my mind, i was thinking about how much money was being 'BOOM' into the air like that. sigh~
the funny thing about this year's national day was the DJ from St James powerhouse. i liked the music and i didn't think that St James Powerhouse would have nice music after that one horrible experience there. there wasn't a DJ when i went there, they were playing normal tracks from a CD. so what the hell. so after that last saturday, i might get give St James another shot someday.

and i am looking forward to the olympics opening ceremony later! but the saddest thing is that my TV is abit spoilt - no sound.
