Macau 2009 Day two

氹仔 Taipa Island

--[[ Breakfast@Cafe Taipa ]]--

First stop - Taipa Gourmet village. It's an entire block of shophouses resturants and bakeries. Sigh - good food lah. *jealous*

small little cafe with alot of choices - 149 to be exact.

the juicy pork chop bun. everything straight from the pan!!

北帝古廟 - estimated 300 year old ancient temple. Taipa itself is pretty peaceful and since it was early in the morning - the serenity of the temple reaches all the way into your soul and suddenly you feel like you have stepped into another world. very at peace like you don't have anything to worry about. Wah~~ feeling the stress from the coming exams - i do wonder if i should become a nun.. but i am a carnivour with raging hormones so i will never last more than a week. HAHAHHAHA..

OH YA - my virgin lot picking (qiu qian) was done at this temple. i was DAMN FREAKING ANXIOUS THE WHOLE TIME. FLUSTERED as to how to ask and shake the container, and AFRAID - what kind of lot was i going to be given. EMBARRESSED that i couldn't do it despite my numerous attempts. well - they always a good horse does not turn back on the path that it has walked on but damn i wasn't going to give up after flying many, many miles to reach macau. i finally succeeded on my fourth attempt!! yes - you shall succeed if you persever lol. *happy*

**Warning: Best portugese egg tarts in Macau**

HEAVENLY TARTS. busy eating lah.. forgot to take photo of the food.

--[[ lunch@法蘭度餐廳:- 路環黑沙海灘9號地下 ]]--
Important step - taking a walk to digest breakfast. old man sat at one of the beach bench to enjoy the ocean breeze. i went down to play with the sand. see - the sand in black. but i wouldn't go there a second time again though. nothing much there.

Restaurante Fernando - outside. recommended by a gourmet program.

Restaurante Fernando inside.

ang moh, ang moh. but too bad lah.. not cute.. =(
i decided to cam-whore abit before food came. actually i wanted to compare and see how round my face will become after this entire trip. now - you can still see my chin and jaw. hahahha i expected it to be SUPER round later.
yes - those buns are big but please do not overlook the innocent looking jug there. it costs more than MOP100 about S$20+. it is red wine mixed with alot of other stuff. quite nice. quite ex too. hmmm. and we didn't manage to finish it. *heart ache*

garlic prawns. sweet with the fragrance of garlic. not too bad

this isn't your usual roast suckling pig. i don't know what spices they used but the crispy skin has a great taste to it!

salt and pepper roasted pork ribs - sound nice right? so-so only lah. my dad the butcher reckons that they used frozen ribs rather than fresh ones - hence the lack of juices. so i conclude that this expensive meal is only so-so only. $100 for 2? not going back again.

can you guess which hotel is this?

this is only a small part of a big ass six star hotel

ans: The Venetian by Four Seasons.

in search of dinner - we came to the less glamourous part of macau. and finally i managed to find road side stores!! you don't see many in Hongkong anymore. they are going extinct.

i intend to go back there for dessert. =)

fishing port.

i know it's a see of red but you should have been there to see them slaughter the fish. you can still see the gills moving.. *shudders*

i like to visit these streets. i didn't see much of them in hongkong 3 years ago. it makes me feel like i am in another time dimension. lol. i think chinatown used to be like that too. maybe a lot dirtier.

i think Singapore is abit too clean and too new. lol. so everything loses it uniqueness. which is very sad. why can't we retain abit of the old culture leh?

never heard of the phrase - ''jia you ti lao, ru you yi bao"?

eh - our sight-seeing was much longer than intended. we walked for nearly an hour before we found this place. it is supposedly very good. eh - my picky tastebuds have reconfirmed that fact. it is good and worth every second of search.

--[[ dinner@六記粥:- 地址 : 新馬路沙梨頭仁慕巷1號D(29號碼頭對面) ]]--

prawn wanton in fish soup. wah~ the first of many good things to come.

chilli clams. OMG how come so nice!! it looks so normal!!

crab and chicken porriage. OMG OMG OMG O.M.G. it's so nice!!

another night of sight seeing.

after walking so much - we decided to retire to the hotel early. wrong move. we should have gone to the Fishermen's Wharf. damn.
