but ma la steamboat with shuwen and many people that day was damn shiok lah! plus shuwen's sister was totally funny!! she punked kyoko so much it was hilarious!! i hope that we get to have another round of steamboat again soon. like soon soon cuz i am craving for ma-la steamboat. hahahha!! i am a steamboat-fanatic and i eat alot when it comes to steamboat!

i can't wait for chinese new year to come. steamboat. steamboat. ang bao. ang bao. ang bao... COME...

eh - i watched PONYO some time ago. it's a weird show and i am quite sure it is targeted at the age group of 12 and below. my friend was left hanging and lost somewhere in between because the plot never really go a chance to develop. i just wanted to catch the cute graphics and i think that the hand-drawn graphics were really very nice. totally worth the money despite a dubious plot.

i went on monday and the small theater was actually full with about 30% of the crowd being school girls. for the first time in my life - i saw a angmoh otaku. there were two sitting near us. they were probably fans of STUDIO CHIBI because they pumped their hands in the air when the logo for the studio appeared.

you should have seen the immense aura of otaku-ness emitting from them. from sloppy hair, afro hair and their attire. plus they made themselves totally at home with pillows, blankets and they littered the floor with their rubbish. knn... who said singaporeans were ungracious. ang mohs are too!!

-spoiler alert-
there are funny, sweet and cute moments in the movie and they were enhanced by the beautiful drawings. but at some point a feel-happy show was turned into a horror movie for kids because the sea started possessing scary eyes and kidnapping people. Ponyo, the cute goldfish even mutated into a human and chicken hybrid!! i was mortified to see it.

but i suppose that is enough horror and suspense for a kid. i can't expect them to process complex adult emotions. but that is how fairytales are like - no logic. not possible to take place in real life. if fairytales were logical, then they wouldn't be called fairytales.
