PLACE: MACAU
DATE: EARLY FEB 2009
PURPOSE: VACCATION
Sigh~ nothing beats having a relaxing vaccation and enjoying fresh and delicious food. i wouldn't say the food is cheap though. it is roughly the same as sin but definitely nicer!
i know exams are coming but i think i have been studying since like the start of the year so why not? re-charge abit before sinking into the fiery hell of mugging... oh - i miss Macau already. i think i might have left my soul there, somewhere. hohoho!!
Macau is damn puny - but you need to be a cow if you wanna eat all the wonderful, wonderful food that the place has to offer. i might not have four stomachs but mine is sufficiently large enough to stomach five to six meals a day. muahahahhahahhaha.. *grinning gleefully*
but i realise something - you can hardly find any plump people there. i mean there were only skinny, skinny young people around. why arh? i mean that country has so much good food - how can one not grow fat there?
--[[ breakfast@梁慶記粥粉麵食:- 福隆新街 21 號 ]]--
anyway bumped round and wala~! my gourmet journey starts with a small shop.
my first meal upon touching down: pig liver and intestine porriage. YUMMMMM... never had congee so smooth.
that's 福隆新街 in the evening. White shophouses with red doors and windows. so nice~!! 雲吞 (wanton soup) and 蝦子撈竹昇麵 (shrimp roe noodles). wah~! can't find such springy noodles anywhere in singapore!! *sobs*
--[[ lunch@澳門米糙巷營地街市市政綜合大樓 ]]--
this is like chinatown's wet market many years back. i grew up in chinatown so this brings back memories~!!
boxes of live shrimp and fish!
Pork, lungs, liver head, tongue - all hooked up.
worst meal ever - never going to eat fried wanton ever again.
--[[sightseeing@Senada Square]]--
senado square in the day time. this is where you can find St Dominic Church - it's got a very church feeling, not like some of singapore's commericalised churchs. nice feeling =)
Sam Kai Vui Kun Temple
i LOVE the temples in Macau - you feel really, really peaceful the moment you step into one.
Casino Lisboa
Grand Lisboa hotel
found this inside the Grand Lisboa hotel.one word - WOAH.
--[[ dinner]]--
nothing fantastic about this but i love the noodles. i saw this african man eating there with his friend. i think he was conversing with the waitress in cantonese but i had NO IDEA what he was talking about. i bet he's a regular there. that's why the waitress was tuned to his frequency..
that plate of fish skin might look kinda gross but surprisingly crunchy!!
pig trotters' noodle
fish ball made from a special kind of fish. not a fan of it though.
--[[ dessert@杏香園 - 澳門清平直街13號 ]]--
hahahahah i think this place sells nice dessert~! i mean i don't see much dessert houses in Macau but this is over 140 different types.. so yes - you can go eat one every night and you have to stay in Macau for 3, 4 months.
my dad's chestnut something something with coconut milk i think.
my manga fruit, with coconut ice cream. totally sinful. endorphin-rush.
--[[ more sightseeing ]]--
Leal Senado Building at night
one of my dear hotel stays - Wynn Hotel
inside Wynn watching the 'lucky tree'
view from Macau Tower
that concludes the first day of my Macau tour! i was dog tired because i was walking every moment. i only sit when i am eating.
